Common Questions
What size vessels can be lifted?
The facility operates a 150-tonne travel lift and can accommodate vessels of approximately 40 metres in length and approximately 10.2 metres beam. Suitability for a specific vessel depends on design, displacement, draft and lifting points and is confirmed by our team.
Where is the facility located?
66 Frances Bay Drive, Stuart Park NT 0820 — on Frances Bay, minutes from Darwin CBD.
Is submitting an enquiry a confirmed booking?
No. An enquiry lets us assess your vessel, the work required and availability. A booking exists only once North Coast Shiplift confirms it with you.
Can I work on my own vessel?
Yes. Vessel owners are welcome to work on their vessels while they are in our yard, but all contracted works must be arranged through our office.
What are the yard access hours?
Yard access hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday. Arrangements for after-hours access must be confirmed with our staff.
Can I stay on my vessel overnight?
No. Overnight stays are not permitted because our yard is secured outside business hours.
Do you work on recreational vessels as well as commercial?
Yes. The facility supports commercial, government, charter, fishing and workboat operators as well as private yacht, powerboat and catamaran owners.
How much does a lift cost?
Pricing depends on the vessel, the works and time required on the hardstand. Send your vessel details through the enquiry form and our team will respond.
What information should I provide with an enquiry?
Length overall, beam, draft, approximate displacement, hull material and configuration, the works you need and your preferred dates.
